How to use this Halloween crossword
Halloween is a big day for printables, and a crossword is calmer than a party game while still feeling festive. These clues are aimed at second to fifth graders and avoid anything gory. Every answer crosses another, so a student who knows pumpkin and ghost gets letters for the trickier ones like cauldron and scarecrow.
- Edit the clues to fit your class, or keep them as they are. One answer and its clue per line, separated by a colon.
- Try it in the preview first: tap a square and type, and each right answer turns green.
- Under More options you can add a word bank and change the instructions line.
- Press Make my printable, then Print / Save PDF for the puzzle and its answer key.
Tips
- Use it as a quiet reset after the costume parade, while the room calms down.
- Older students can write their own clues for the same answers, then trade puzzles with a partner.
